Gatehouse Portal
My love affair with gatehouses started many years ago. How could I resist adding one to the Tiny Village collection? It is #15 and a definite keeper! This is the first prototype, almost right but as always there is a little more fine tuning to be done. But there are not any visible changes to be made. Only a few adjustments that will help make easier the alignment of the walls of the towers. Those tower sections might look large in the photo but they are only 2/10ths of an inch wide and 1 inch tall.
The detailing at the top of the towers folds down to create that layered look. A bit of extra work for you as a dab of glue has to be put under each section but it is not difficult to do.
There is another new building, a nice little house #14, just to the right of the gatehouse building.

Hello Karin,
I love them all but the gate house is really spectacular. Incredible, clean, detailed work, especially for such a small scale.
Big hug,

Oh, I love the gatehouse, it is marvelous Karin.
These are all so cool! I love the new one. The picture of them all in a row is WAYYY fun :)
I just LOVE the gate house Karin. It is a beautiful design like all the rest of them!!! How hard would it be to make a castle I wonder. Perhaps put together in two or three pieces. A village with a castle!

Catherine a castle is planned. But it will take a while to work it all out to be in proportion to the other pieces.
For instance the new gatehouse piece is not done at real castle sized gatehouse size in proportion to the Tiny Village. It is done at at the decorative Tudor revival folly size as was done in villages and on estates by the Victorians both in Europe and in the Americas.
The gatehouse is over the TOP! And a CASTLE is in the works, too? Can't wait to see that...
They're all great but that perfect little gatehouse is the tops.
